WelcomeThank you for your interest in the National EMS Research Agenda project. EMS Research Ethics ConferenceThe National EMS Research Agenda is engaged in its final phase which is to develop guidance for IRBs and researchers who plan to use the emergency exception from informed consent process. A conference was held on February 7-8, 2007 in Washington DC. Participants included emergency researchers, ethicists, IRB members and administrators, and research sponsors. Research Strategic PlanThe National EMS Research Agenda project completed its third phase. The investigators worked with a wide variety of EMS stakeholders to develop an EMS research strategic plan. The first meeting of the writing team was held in San Diego in February 2004 and a final consensus meeting was held in March 2005. Learn more about the process for developing the strategic plan. The final document was published in Prehospital Emergency Care in 2005.[PubMed] Implementation SymposiumA symposium to roll out the National EMS Research Agenda and the EMS Outcomes Project occurred in June 2001 in Washington, DC. EMS Professionals, researchers and federal policy makers discussed implementation of the EMS Research Agenda. You can review the presentations given at the meeting.
